Lauderdale Band was formed in early 2007, however the band members had been playing together long before then. The band includes Matt Purcell aka - Uncle Matt and "official" old guy, and three nephews Jake, Sam and Mitch (the youngsters) as well as "What up Dawg" - Justin Griener and "Crazy" Bill Keillor "The Sultan of Sound" running the sound rig for the band. The band name comes from Lauderdale street in Flint Twp which is where the grand parents (Paul and Mary pictured right) of the "youngsters" in the band lived for many years. Numerous family gatherings, parties, music lessons from Grandma and other good times took place on Lauderdale street. Our band is all about playing music and having fun, we always had a good time on"Lauderdale", hence the name.
